Sebastian Community Redevelopment Agency

Statement of Purpose

The City of Sebastian recognized significant areas of the downtown were in need of redevelopment so in 1995 the City of Sebastian completed a study to identify and delineate the boundaries of a redevelopment area.

The City of Sebastian created the Sebastian Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) in accordance with Florida Statutes 163 (Community Redevelopment) and Florida Statute 189 (Dependent Special District), as a means to ensure that the downtown and surrounding vicinity would develop with a coherent community vision, and to encourage reinvestment and redevelopment throughout the redevelopment District.

The City Council of the City of Sebastian was appointed by Resolution as the Community Redevelopment Agency and oversees the projects, programs and budget of the Agency.
