Public Records Search

The City of Sebastian is committed to transparency and open government. In accordance with Florida Statutes Chapter 119, members of  the public may request access to a wide range of city records. This page  provides guidance on how to request public records, what is available,  and how to contact the appropriate department.

Records Available

Public records available from the City may include, but are not limited to:

  • City Council meeting minutes and agendas

  • Ordinances, resolutions, and municipal codes

  • City contracts, policies, and financial reports

  • Land development, zoning, and permitting records

  • Inspection and code enforcement documentation


Please note that some records may be exempt from disclosure or redacted under state or federal law.

Online Records Access

The City offers an online records portal that allows the public to  access many commonly requested records at any time. No registration is  required to search or view documents.

Fees and Response Times

Public records will be provided in a reasonable time frame, depending  on the nature and volume of the request. If a request requires  extensive use of staff time or resources, a cost estimate will be  provided in advance, in accordance with Florida law.

Copy and duplication fees may apply based on the format and delivery  method requested. You will be notified of any costs before work begins.

Important Information About Email

Under Florida law, email addresses are public records. If you do not  want your email address released in response to a public records  request, do not send electronic mail to this office. Instead, make your  request in person or by phone.

Police Department Records Requests

Requests for police reports or other law enforcement records must be submitted directly to the Sebastian Police Department.

Please include as much detail as possible, such as the case number,  date and location of the incident, and names of involved individuals.  The Police Department processes records in accordance with Florida  Statutes Chapter 119 and may apply appropriate redaction where  required.

How to Request City Records or to Contact the Records Custodian

All general City of Sebastian public records requests must be  directed to the City Clerk, who serves as the official Records  Custodian.

You are not required to provide a reason for your request, and requests may be submitted anonymously.
